The problems encountered by scholars in the GCSP are those that critical to human prosperity, so solutions student-devised are very likely to be applicable in communities around the world. Thus, a multicultural perspective is a necessary skill to address the grand challenges that are inherently global and have the potential to lead to innovation in a global economy.
Here are possible options to demonstrate this competency
- Global Engineering Leadership Minor (GELM)
- Completion of the GCSP cohort program
- A GT approved semester or summer study abroad
- Two semesters in the Global Leadership Living Learning Community
- An approved internship or co-op abroad
- An approved global experience or global project within an existing internship or co-op
- An approved international service/engineering trip such as Alternative Spring Break, Engineers Without Borders, or Engineering World Health
- The Georgia Tech International Plan
- Participate in a Global Internship
- (For international students with visa restrictions) Participate in a GT course with a multi-cultural focus (You must get pre-approval for the course from the GT GCSP board)
- A minor in International Relations, Public Policy or Political Science
- An approved global experience suggested by the student
